EMX-8: Supply Voltage

Supply voltage EMX-8

Problem

If there is no supply voltage (yellow and white connection cable) or incorrect polarity when powered by DC (and the KNX bus is functioning), the following data point (object) "values" can be observed in the ETS (KNX):
- Sensors defective "true"
- Wind sensor defective "true"
- Precipitation "true"
- Wind speed "88.88 m/s"
- Temperature "-320 °C"
- Brightness 1 - 4 "0 Lux" (Brightness "total" may still display a Lux value!)

Workaround

Supply voltage must be present. Ensure correct polarity when powering with 24 VDC. Powering via auxiliary voltage (unrestricted DC 29V output) from, for example, a 640mA KNX power supply is generally not recommended (since an EMX-8 draws up to 300mA, meaning only about 30 additional devices could then be operated on the KNX line, unless the power supply can continuously deliver 2x640mA).
